Price Levels

This document explains the relationship between Products Codes, Price Levels (on item record), and Price Types (on customer record)

PRODUCT CODES:

  • Inventory (Module 5)
    • System Management Functions (Task 32)
      • Modify Application Table (Sub-task 17)
        • Product Codes (Option 3)

There are nine product codes that can be setup in the system. The inventory items that are coded to use a Product Code can then have different pricing for different customers.

PRICE LEVELS:

  • Inventory (Module 5)
    • Item Master (Task 17)
      • Price Levels 1 thru 9 (Fields 11 - 19)

Each item has nine different price levels that can be given to different customers. For example, level one could be Retail Pricing for walk-ins, level 2 could be for customers who buy from you sometimes, whereas level 5 might be for your very best customers.

PRICE TYPES:

  • Accounts Receivable (Module 2)
    • Customer Master (Task 17)
      • Price Type (Field 13)

The Price Type field (#13) on the customer record has nine spaces. Each of these spaces correspond to the nine Product Codes, and thereby the nine Price Levels.

Use the following table to relate the Product Codes to the Price Levels:

Across the top are the Product Codes (see table above), down the side are the Price Levels from the item.

EXAMPLE HOW THIS ALL TIES TOGETHER:

Field #13/Price Type on Customer Master record would look like this (using tables from above):

2 7 3 5 4 1 1 8 1

Therefore, customers who have field #13/Price Type set up as above, and purchase items with a Product Code of 1 (Diazo) they would get Price Level 2 (field 12) from the Item record. When purchasing items with a Product Code of 2 (Media) the customer would get a price based on Price Level 7 (field 17) from the Item record. Also when purchasing products that have a Product Code of 6, 7 or 9, the customer would receive the pricing from Price Level 1.

DISCOUNTS BASED ON QUANTITY BREAKS - See the document titled "Price Using Discount Quantity Tables" for an explanation on how to set up the system when a customer buys in various quantities and they get a different price for the different price breaks.
