Bill-of-Material Recalculate Item Cost

This program is used to reset inventory last and/or average costs, in Task 17 Item master, for items defined by the bill of materials as being `parent' items.  You will be asked to choose desired options, then a small index file will be built, and then you will be allowed to successively process as many individual items or ranges of items as you desire.

If the component items cost, which makeup the parent item, have gone down this recalculation may reduce the cost of the parent item.

  • Inventory Control (Module 5)
    • Bill-of-Materials (Task 28)
      • Recalculate inventory costs for B/M items(s) CLCOST (Sub-task 4)
      • Selectable options are:
        • Maximum level (maximum # of levels to traverse down a bill of material structure). Calculate to level:__
        • Cost to base calculations on (A/L):
        • Which costs(s) to update (A/L/B):
        • Include other cost and freight cost? (Y/N)

NOTE: If a labor item is included in the BOM as a component, & you want the labor item to be included in the recalculation, the $ amount needs to be in the appropriate average or last cost of the item master labor item.
