Price Based on Levels

Another way to use the Discount Tables, other than pure quantity breaks, is to use the tables to look to various price levels of an item.  Below is a chart with sizes and quantity breaks.  If pricing is based on the chart, follow the instructions given to achieve the desired results.

For this particular chart, two Discount Tables (Task 22 in the Inventory module) would need to be set up.  The first table would be set as follows:

 01. Table name  :QL

 02. Table descr :PRICE LEVELS

 03. Break on D/Q:Q

 04. Amount type :L (% L $)

 05. Quantity    :1

 06.      Level  :1

 07. Quantity    :5

 08.      Level  :2

 09. Quantity    :20

 10.      Level  :3

 11. Quantity    :50

 12.      Level  :4

 13. Quantity    :100

 14.      Level  :5

 15. Quantity    :200

 16.      Level  :6

 17. Quantity    :501

18.          Level  :7

Then, in the Item Master (Task 17 in the Inventory module) the item that represents, for example, the size 8.5 x 11, price levels 1 through 7 would have the appropriate prices as shown below:

 11. Price 1     :  2.50

 12. Price 2     :  2.10

 13. Price 3     :  1.70

 14. Price 4     :  1.30

 15. Price 5     :  1.05

 16. Price 6     :    .90

 17. Price 7     :    .70

 18. Price 8     :

 19. Price 9     :

The second table would only have breaks through a quantity of 50 because anything over 50 gets the same pricing and the price levels on the item would only have 4 levels instead of the 7 in the example above.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • This will ONLY work when there are no more than 9 pricing levels (there are only 9 price levels on the item master) because the table is instructing the computer to look at a particular price level based on the quantity break.
  • The Amount Type must be an L, and the Break On must be a Q.
