Stock Availability Key

A parameter is available, using a combination of two traits, to limit the descriptive search of items based on stock availability.  Note: the two traits can be entered in either order because it doesn’t matter…the system checks for the key word traits in the parameter.

The ENTER or HOME key identifies which physical key is used to limit the descriptive search based on stock availability.  The other key will be used for all items, without regard to stock availability

IN or OUT identifies whether the limited search shows only those items IN-stock or OUT-of-stock.

Below are a couple of examples of how the parameter could be set:

  • Example 1:  HOME+IN  indicates the HOME key triggers partial search to check stock and shows only items that are IN-stock.  The ENTER key would then be used to show "ALL" items regardless of stock.
  • Example 2:  OUT+ENTER indicates the ENTER key triggers partial search to check stock and shows only items that are OUT-of-stock.  The HOME key would then be used to show "ALL" items regardless of stock.

Look for the following parameter, ITEM’STOCK’ONLY,  go to:

  • Purchase Order (Module 7)
    • System Management Functions (Task 32)
      • Modify Parameter Files (Sub-task 22)
        • P/O – General (Option 1)

NOTE:  There are parameters which control ‘searches’ in the Order Processing module. The parameters are: PARTIAL'SEARCH= and  ISTOCK'ONLY=.   They are found in 6/32/22/1.
