Maxene Reporter installation Notes

The Maxene Reporter application is installed using an automatic installer. However, some manual steps need to be followed for it to function correctly.

Prerequisites and Manual steps:

1. Indicate whether the new server is ready for installation.

    - Install Excel and have it activated and ready to go

    - IIS should be installed on the new server with ASP enabled

    - Default Document section must have login.asp in the document list

    Settings to be checked with IIS 7.0 onwards:

        - DefaultAppPool->Advanced Settings            Enable32Bit App

        - Upload file size setting for classic asp application. Default is 200000 bytes, change to 200000000 bytes.

2. To be able to open Excel for populating records on 64-bit OS:

    - Create "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\Desktop" folder.

3. Provide the RDP access info for the Windows Administrator user and password.

4. Ensure that it will allow RDP access from our network's IP address or the hostname mail.mvsoftware.com.

Location of latest installation program:

    E:\maxene_reporter\releases\2014_releases\MR_4_01_003.exe

Steps to follow the install process:

        1. Upload latest installation program to destination server

        2. Check for prerequisites

        3. Run installation program and follow set up wizard instructions

        4. Follow manual steps

        5. Install latest MySql ODBC driver (Connector/ODBC is a standardized database driver for Windows) from:

            http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/

        6. Create ProfitsPlus system DSN

            Administrative Tools->Data Sources(ODBC)

Configuration and testing MaxeneReporter:

        1. Run MaxeneReporter application

        2. Login with default Adminstrator account

        3. Manage Company(ies) and add DSN(s)

        4. Set SMTP server details to send/receive reports generated by MaxeneReporter

        5. Add License Key(s)

        6. Check other modules and their functionalities
