If /usr/lib/sendmail.cf already exists, make a back up copy with a different name, i.e.: sendmail.cf.20020805

 Custom

 Login as root

Enter   custom    to launch the SCO software maintenance program.

Remove MMDF

If MMDF Mail Transfer Agent is installed, remove it.

Navigate to the MMDF component:

·        SCO OpenServer Enterprise System

o       SCO OpenServer Enterprise System Unix

§         SCO OpenServer Enterprise System Unix Mail Utilities

SCO MMDF (ver x.xx.xx)

* If MMDF Mail Transfer Agent is installed, remove it.

Install sendmail

Insert the SCO OpenServer Software CD into the CD drive.

Choose “Software” “Install new” from the menu

Media format = CD

Navigate to the sendmail component:

SCO OpenServer DeskTop System

SCO OpenServer DeskTop System Unix

SCO OpenServer DeskTop System Unix Mail Utilities

SCO sendmail (ver x.x.x)

 

 

During load and auto-configure of sendmail, the Software Manager will stop at the following request:

“Enter the full host name to use for mail [xxx.yyyyyy.com] :

Respond with  mail.yyyyyyyy.com” 

 

After sendmail is installed it will have to be modified with the instructions on the next page.

 

Modify sendmail 8.11 or later

 

Modify the /usr/lib/sendmail.cf file as shown in the boxes below.

 

  1. Search for DM             replace the test.testdomain.com  with yyyyyyyyy.com
  2. Search for Dj                Make a copy of the commented line.

Uncommnent the new line

Make the new line  say  Djyyyyyyyyy.com

      That’s all the mods needed for sendmail 8.11 or later


Modify sendmail pre 8.11 only

 

MVS has SCO 5.0.5

MVS has SENDMAIL 8.8.8

Modify the /usr/lib/sendmail.cf file as shown in the boxes below.

 

  1. Search for DM             Add ProfitsPlus@xxxxxxxx.com

 

  1. Search for S11             Add 1st line “R$+…”

 

  1. Search for S31             Add 1st line R$+…”

 

  1. Search for S61             Copy R$+ line, then remove the “< @ $M >” portion

Comment out the original line with a leading #

Install mvmail

 

Use the MV automated updates menu to send and install mvmail, mutt, and curses automatically.   It is menu option “9. Install mvmail” on the automated updates main menu.  

 

 

Verify network setup

Verify their default gateway is setup according to our email networking startup scripts.
