Before Beginning A/R Module

The following tables in the OE Module must be setup before you can begin the AR Module. These tables will be used when building the Customer Master Files in AR.

  • Order Processing (Module 6)
    • System Management (Task 32)
      • Modify Application tables (Sub-task 17)
        • Shipment methods (Table 4)
        • Payment terms (Table 6)
        • Available Warehouse/Dept combinations. (Table 15)

The system comes pre-loaded with standard codes in the Application Tables, however you may customize some of the codes. Please read the directions very carefully if changes are made as some codes are required by the system and must never be changed.

    • System Management (Task 32)
      • Modify Application tables (Sub-task 17)
        • Credit Limit codes (Table 2)
        • Customer Type definitions (Table 3)
        • Tax Codes (Table 5)

Salesperson #'s - must be setup before setting up Customer Master File.

There are different uses for salesperson numbers:

  • Some companies use salesperson #'s for commissions. (Each company calculates commissions differently, so you will need to discuss this with our training/support staff.)
  • Some companies use salesperson #'s to track individual profitability.
  • Some companies use salesperson #'s to track who wrote the sale, so if a problem or question arises the appropriate person can be addressed.

    • Salesperson/Technician File (Task 20)
      • Enter New Salesperson Record (Sub-task 1)
        • Fields 1, 2, & 16 are important fields, if the rest do not apply.
          • 1. Salesperson #: Up to 4 numbers. (There is no automatic counter.)
          • 2. Name: Up to 25 characters
          • 3. Bus address: Up to 25 characters.
          • 4. Bus city: Up to 25 characters.
          • 5. Bus state: 2 digit abbreviation.
          • 6. Bus country: Up to 10 characters.
          • 7. Bus zip: 9 digits, alphanumeric.
          • 8. Bus phone: No dashes.
          • 9. Home address: Up to 25 characters.
          • 10. Home city: Up to 15 characters.
          • 11. Home State: 2 digit abbreviation.
          • 12. Home country: Up to 10 characters.
          • 13. Home zip: 9 digits, alphanumeric.
          • 14. Home phone: No dashes.
          • 15. Type: N/A
          • 16. Commission %:
          • 17. Territory A:
          • 18. Territory B:
          • 19. MTD Comm:
          • 20. YTD Comm:
          • 21. Password

Set up one salesperson # for the house account. We suggest that "50" is used..
