This document explains how to lock a terminal out of an order entry action.
Go to:
-
Order Processing (Module 6)
-
System management functions (Task 32)
-
Modify Application tables (Sub-task 17)
- 2 Order entry printer assignments
- The terminal # can be found on the main menu module list in the upper right hand corner with the date and time.
- "NNNNNN" in a given column means that user is NOT allowed to perform the corresponding action.
- You must use up all six characters for the printer name or in this case 6 N’s

! Order printing forms
#1 - Positions 01 to 06 = Invoice
#2 - Positions 08 to 13 = Shipper document
#3 - Positions 15 to 20 = Picking ticket document / ALT invoice print
#4 - Positions 22 to 27 = Workorder document
#5 - Positions 29 to 34 = Lay-a-way/deposit document
#6 - Positions 36 to 41 = Quote/estimate document
The pattern must be followed exactly.
"TERM01" , "PRINT2,PRINT2,PRINT2,PRINT2,PRINT2,PRINT2"
"TERM02" , "PRINT2,PRINT2,PRINT2,PRINT2,NNNNNN,PRINT2"
"TERM03" , "NNNNNN,NNNNNN,NNNNNN,PRINT2,NNNNNN,PRINT2"
"TERM04" , "NNNNNN,PRINT2,PRINT2,PRINT2,NNNNNN,PRINT2"
In the above example:
- Terminal 1 can do everything.
- Terminal 2 can do everything except lay-a-way or deposit.
- Terminal 3 can only do a workorder or an invoice.
- Terminal 4 can do everything except a lay-a-way/deposit or an invoice.
Remember so save the changes to the printer assignment table.
If the printer assignment table is changed for a particular terminal, that terminal must be backed out to the main menu for the change to take affect
