"Quote Only" Section Allowed

Restricting certain employees the option of ONLY entering quotes can be done by making two changes to the settings on the system. 

For the first setting, go to:

• Order Processing (Module 6)
  • System Management Functions (Task 32)
    • Modify Application Tables (Sub-task 17)
      • Order Entry Printer Assignments (Selection 2) plus
      • Holding File Printer Assignments (Selection 3…if the employee has access to the Holding File)

For the specific user, set the printer name in columns 1 through 5 to all ‘NNNNNN’.  The exception is column 6 (which is for printing quotes), enter a valid printer ‘name’.

For the second setting, go to:

• Order Processing (Module 6)
  • System Management Functions (Task 32)
    • Modify Application Tables (Sub-task 17)
      • Default Terminal Whse/Dept’s

For the specific user, under the “TRX” column set the last two characters to “#2”.  This will automatically default the order transaction type to “Quote” and only a quote….the user can’t use any other order transactions type (Order, Credit Memo, etc.)
